Sweet and Sour Meatballs


1 lb. ground beef
4 tbsp. breadcrumbs
2 tsp. basil chopped
2 tbsp. parley chopped
1 tsp. dried oregano
1 egg beaten
3 cloves garlic minced
1 tbsp. onion chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
3 tbsp. olive oil
1 tbsp. olive oil
3 tbsp. soya sauce
2 tsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. vinegar
2/3 cup ketchup
1/2 cup onion chopped
3/4 cup brown sugar


Mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, garlic, onion, egg, oregano, parsley and basil together.
Add salt and pepper to taste and form into balls.
In a skillet heat the olive oil over high heat
Fry the meatballs until golden brown and place on paper towel.
Now you can prepare the sauce
In a saucepan heat the olive oil and fry the onion until tender. Add the soya sauce, lemon juice, vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar and simmer for 10 minutes
Place the meatballs into the sauce and cook for 1 hour over medium heat.
